If you're pregnant

here's some info about fetal development

by: ProInformed

Warning to pregnant women - if your doctor is telling you to abort because they say your baby is seriously ill and won't live anyway, read the story at the following link!
http://www.benotafraid.net/story.asp?id=124
Some of the info the clinic 'escorts' are 'protecting' pregnant patients from receiving:
http://www.prolifeamerica.com/fusetalk/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=7&threadid=6693&enterthread=y
">http://www.prolifeamerica.com/...3&enterthread=y
"morning sickness or the sickness of mourning?"
Listen to Nick's song!:
http://www.prolife.com/

Also, beware of the RU486 abortion pill:
"Those who have developed and promoted RU 486 have told women that the abortifacient offers them a way to have an abortion without the risk of surgery.
But as this latest study shows, the abortion industry's efforts to tamper with the FDA protocol have decreased the 'effectiveness' of these drugs and put many of these women in line for surgical abortions after their chemical abortions failed."
says Dr. Randall K. O'Bannon, National Right to Life's Director of Education and Research.
Real Alternatives -
Whatever the reason, we can help.
CALL US AT 1-888-LIFE AID
for free, caring and completely confidential alternative-to-abortion, pregnancy and parenting support services.
We can educate you about reproductive health concerns, and we can assist you in finding appropriate medical help.
You'll speak to women who will be on your side every step of the way.
We're here for YOU.
Warning to pregnant females - do not trust that you will be given accurate info about your baby's development if you go to a clinic that advertises as being 'pro-choice'. Such clinics lie to women and then make fun of the women afterwards when they learn the truth about fetal development and what the abortion really did to their baby.
It is not safe to trust such clinics, so make sure you do your own research on fetal development, how abortions are actually done, and abortion complications.
http://www.prolife.com/FETALDEV.html
Also, the same abortion industry lobby groups that assure women that the clinics are 'safe', even the NAF which claims the clinics it endorse are 'safe', put the rights, safety, and lives of women second place behind 'abortion rights'.
Roe v Wade did NOT include ANY health or safety regulations to ensure that the clinics would be 'safe'; Roe v Wade just said the citizens could pass laws to regulate the abortion industry BUT the abortion industry lobby groups fight every attempt to pass legislation to make the clinics safer!
The safety of the women is NOT a concern of the abortion clinic operators:

"I want the general public to know what the doctors know- that this is a
person, this is a baby. That this is not some kind of blob of tissue."

Women should have a right to be told the truth.

reply from: Rosalie

The doctors at the private practice I had been to were absolutely honest, truthful and helpful with everything me and my fiancé needed and wanted to know or do. We had zero problems, zero complaints and we will be back next time I get pregnant. Also, all the doctors there are highly respected within their community and all of them are pro-choice because they would never ever dream of doing anything as disgusting as abusing women in order to force them to continue or abort their pregnancies against their will.
Too bad that you have to resort to lies and propaganda in order to force your opinion on others. You must be really desperate.

reply from: Shenanigans

Have to agree with you about lies and propaganda. There's a lot of ignorance out there about a good deal of things, including foetal development. My flatmate told me of the abortion the girl he knocked up had, he said she was 14 weeks along and its "just a fish looking blob at that stage" and truely beleived that - since the people at the clinic had told him and the girl that.
Of course, I broke out the medical anat and phsyio books.

I wonder if Rosalie has ever opened an anatomy or medical text. I guess the 3 and 4 D ultrasounds are just a prolife conspiracy to deprieve and decieve women of their sacred right to abort. After all it is abortion that makes one a woman right? You aint a woman until you have had one. (TIC)

reply from: scopia19822

"Having an abortion doesn't make you a woman any more than squeezing out a baby makes you a woman."
That was a tongue in cheek comment,

If you or someone you know is pregnant and being told that an abortion 'has to' be done for medical reasons, you/they are being LIED TO:
"Today it is possible for almost any patient to be brought through pregnancy alive, unless she suffers from a fatal illness such as cancer or leukemia, and if so, abortion would be unlikely to prolong, much less save life."

Of course, I have a think that Optimus isn't pro-life - "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" and unborn children aren't sentient... but then neither are new borns... hhhmmmm... will have to ask him next tiem I see him.

Day 1 - conception takes place.
7 days - tiny human implants in mother's uterus.
10 days - mother's menses stop.
18 days - heart begins to beat.
21 days - pumps own blood through separate closed circulatory system with own blood type.
28 days - eye, ear and respiratory system begin to form.
42 days - brain waves recorded, skeleton complete, reflexes present.
7 weeks - photo of thumbsucking.
8 weeks - all body systems present.
9 weeks - squints, swallows, moves tongue, makes fist.
11 weeks - spontaneous breathing movements, has fingernails, all body systems working.
12 weeks - weighs one ounce.
16 weeks - genital organs clearly differentiated, grasps with hands, swims, kicks, turns, somersaults, (still not felt by the mother.)
18 weeks - vocal cords work - can cry.
20 weeks - has hair on head, weighs one pound, 12 inches long.
23 weeks - 15% chance of viability outside of womb if birth premature.*
24 weeks - 56% of babies survive premature birth.*
25 weeks - 79% of babies survive premature birth.*
(*Source: M. Allen et. al., "The Limits of Viability." New England Journal
of Medicine. 11/25/93: Vol. 329, No. 22, p. 1597.)

reply from: ProInformed

And it is a scientific fact that each individual human's life begins at conception.

reply from: ProInformed

tiny HUMAN - not the 'blob of cells' lie the 'pro-choice' clinics claim

reply from: ProInformed

Ah I went back and checked and did see that the only part referenced to:
(*Source: M. Allen et. al., "The Limits of Viability." New England Journal of Medicine. 11/25/93: Vol. 329, No. 22, p. 1597.)
were:
23 weeks - 15% chance of viability outside of womb if birth premature.*
24 weeks - 56% of babies survive premature birth.*
25 weeks - 79% of babies survive premature birth.*
It was an oversight - not a purposeful attempt at deception as you falsely claim.
That however does not change the scientific fact that at conception a 'tiny human' does indeed come into existence;
a scientific fact that many pro-aborts routinely lie about.

reply from: ProInformed

"10 days - mother's menses stop."
If you are a woman who came to this pro-life forum because you think you might be pregnant because your menstrual cycle is late, do NOT call a 'pro-choice' clinic for an appointment to get a pregnancy test or to get info!
They will tell you lies to try to get you to abort.

8th week 50-56 days:
Just before the eighth week of gestation, an embryo develops its first sensitivity to touch. The unborn child, called a fetus at this stage, is about half an inch long. The amniotic sac, filled with fluid protects the tiny person. Inside, the child swims and moves gracefully. The arms and legs have lengthened, and fingers can be seen. The toes will develop in the next few days. Brain waves can be measured.
During the eighth week the heartbeat is approximately 160 beats per minute. The unborn baby has the ability to open his jaw, move his tongue, and even hiccup (8-10weeks). Movement by the fetus away from cutanactivity has been observed in the 8th week. Also at 8 weeks local stimuli may produce the following movements; squinting, opening the mouth, partial finger closure, and plantar flexion of the toes. A basic sensory loop is clearly present.
At eight weeks almost all the organs are almost for med and in place. Outer cells are becoming nerves and deep within the embryo the cells are becoming organs, bones, muscles, and blood vessels. A simple intestinal tube is forming. A rudimentary heart is now formed as well as an eye.
By eight weeks skin begins to fold over the eye creating a lid.
"Years ago, while giving an anesthetic for a ruptured tubal pregnancy (at two months) I was handed what I believed to be the smallest human being ever seen. The embryo sac was intact and transparent. Within the sac was a tiny human male, swimming extremely vigorously in the amnionic fluid, while attached to the wall by the umbilical cord. The tiny human was perfectly developed, with long, tapering fingers, feet and toes. It was almost transparent as regards to the skin, and the delicate arteries and veins were prominent to the ends of the fingers. The baby was extremely alive and did not look at all like the photos and drawings of 'embryos' which I have seen."

7th week 43-49 days:
In the seventh week, facial features are visible, including a mouth and tongue and the eyes have a retina and lens. The major muscle system is developed, and the unborn child practices moving. The child has its own blood type, distinct from the mother's. The liver produces these blood cells now instead of the yolk sac.
By the seventh week a lens forms over the eye as well as a cornea and an iris. You can often see a black circle in the head which is the retina seen through the future lens of the eye. The hand will grow into a web shape. Fingers take shape, grow and will lengthen. Nose, Mouth, and Ears take form. The embryo is about three-quarters of an inch long, 40,000 times larger than where it began.
The liver is developing by this stage and will often show as a dark mass. The yolk sac gradually gives over to the liver the task of forming blood cells. The yolk sac and the little tube that joined it to the embryo will disappear. Now the fetus will produce it's own blood. It has a network of arteries and veins, oxygen is provided though the blood coming and going between the embryo and the placenta. The circulation system is now perfectly formed.
Somewhere between the second and third month, the fetus' external genital organs develop and become obvious.
Spontaneous movements are seen shortly after the completion of the seventh week. Cutaneous sensory receptors appear in the perioral area of the human fetus in the 7th week of gestation. (The most common time for women to abort)

"When I first started working there [at the clinic], I had to sit and listen to women answering the phone for at least a month before they would allow me to answer the phone. We had to know exactly what we were doing when we were talking to these women. We had to find out very quickly what their problem was, play on that and get them in the clinic for an abortion. We were very good salespeople."
-Joy Davis
"In fact many women will come to me considering abortion, and I have been personally told that I am to turn the monitor away from her view so that seeing her baby jump around on the screen does not influence her choice."
Shari Richards, quoted from the John Ankerburg Show on 3/7/90
"When a girl called to make her appointment, we'd work her in as soon as possible. If she called on Tuesday, we'd have her in no later than Friday. We wanted to avoid a long waiting period where she'd have time to think about it. First she would fill out her forms, and then talk with a counselor. . . The counselors were trained in what areas to cover and which to avoid. They'd say, "I know this is a terrible situation you're in. What can we do to help make this better for you? Yeah, it doesn't sound like you're ready for a pregnancy right now." Their task was to keep the machinery moving - to get the woman into the procedure room as quickly as possible."
---clinic worker, name withheld
"There was a public health center in a town not far from Denver and they sent a lot of girls to us. They told us they did all the counseling. We weren't allowed to counsel them or even ask them about birth control. We couldn't even tell them what could happen during the abortion. Nothing. If we tried to discuss alternatives, we would get in trouble with the doctor because then the health center would threaten to send their business elsewhere. All we did was find out how far along they were, tell them when they were going to be finished, get their money, do the abortion, and send them home."
--Registered nurse Sam Griggs
From "Abortion Clinics: An Inside Look" published by Last Days Ministries.
"I have seen hundreds of patients in my office who have had abortions and were just lied to by the abortion counselor. Namely 'This is less painful than having a tooth removed. It is not a baby.' Afterwards, the woman sees Life magazine and breaks down and goes into a major depression."
--Psychologist Vincent Rue quoted in "Abortion Inc" David Kupelian and Jo Ann Gasper, New Dimensions, October 1991 p 16

It puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of His plan for the end of abortion in America.
National Right to Life - The ultimate goal of the National Right to Life Committee is to restore legal protection to innocent human life. The primary interest of the National Right to Life Committee and its members has been the abortion controversy; however, it is also concerned with related matters of medical ethics which relate to the right to life issues of euthanasia and infanticide.

Life Issues Institute - Life Issues Institute is leading a new nationwide effort that will involve all pro-life groups, state and local chapters, pregnancy help centers and churches in a common educational effort.
LifeNews.com - LifeNews.com is an independent news agency specifically devoted to reporting news that affects the pro-life community. With a team of experienced journalists and reporters, LifeNews.com reaches more than 250,000 pro-life advocates each week via its web site, email news reports, and weekday radio program.
Priests For Life - The mission of Priests for Life is to unite and encourage all clergy to give special emphasis to the life issues in their ministry. It also seeks to help them take a more vocal and active role in the pro-life movement, with predominant emphasis on the issues of abortion and euthanasia. Priests for Life exists in order to show the clergy how to fight the culture of death.

Fidelis Center - Fidelis (Latin for faithful) is the universal name for a group of Catholic-based political, legal, research and educational organizations whose collective mission it is to formulate, promote, and defend public policies that uphold religious freedom, human life from conception to natural death, and the traditional institutions of marriage and family.

C-FAM is a non-partisan, non-profit research institute dedicated to reestablishing a proper understanding of international law, protecting national sovereignty and the dignity of the human person.
Silent No More - The Silent No More Awareness Campaign is an effort to make the public aware of the devastation abortion brings to women, men, and their families. Our hope is that the emotional and physical pain of abortion will no longer be shrouded in secrecy and silence, but rather exposed and healed.
National Catholic Bioethics Center - The NCBC, established in 1972, conducts research, consultation, publishing and education to promote human dignity in health care and the life sciences, and derives its message directly from the teachings of the Catholic Church. The results of this research are available though this website and our various educational and publishing activities, workshops and seminars.
The Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation - The mission of the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation is to develop a national network of resources and support for the medically-dependent, persons with disabilities, and the incapacitated who are in or potentially facing life-threatening situations. Promoting a Culture of Life, "Terri's Foundation" embraces the true meaning of compassion by opposing the practice of euthanasia.
Let Her Live - Let Her Live is a South Carolina nonprofit corporation dedicated to saving babies by turning the hearts of mothers toward their children. We believe that every boy and girl is equally valuable and deserves protection before and after birth.
National Prayer Campaign - Prayer is the foundation of all we do in the pro-life movement, and we invite you to join tens of thousands of others who are offering, each day, a prayer of commitment to build a culture of life. We urge you to pray, throughout the year, the daily prayer to end abortion.
Letters for Life - Many people who have the right ideas just don't feel comfortable putting those ideas in writing. As a pro-life, Christian community, we are called to help one another fulfill our duty to be prophets of the Word. Let those in your circle of friends who are writers compose a series of letters. Then, each person in the group can choose the letter he or she would like to send in to the paper. This approach works!
Pro-Life Action League - The Pro-Life Action League was founded by Joseph M. Scheidler in 1980 with the aim of saving unborn children through non-violent direct action. We are doing all we can to stop the killing and the exploitation.
Culture of Life Fund - If we are determined in our commitment to build a Culture of Life, considerable resources will be necessary. That is why we are encouraging contributions. The funds will be accumulated by country and used in that country in matters affecting life, family, marriage, and similar priorities in building a Culture of Life. Please help us through your prayers and donations as we endeavor to build a Culture of Life.
The American Life League - ALL is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death. It is rooted in pro-life integrity that stands up for every innocent human being whose life is threatened by what Pope John Paul II called "the culture of death." That ranges from the single cell human embryo to the elderly, the infirm and others at risk of having their life terminated by acts of euthanasia.
...for those who may be looking for the other choices.

Shouldn't the taxpayers cover my expenses - like my horses - if I decide that I don't want to work anymore?
I'm not sure how that makes sense... Are you comparing on-campus daycare to horses?? O.o
I completely empathize with how that woman felt. She felt she had no free choice from societal and economic pressures. I don't think that justifies keeping abortion legal, not at all. I do think it is a screaming message for reform however.

So you think a woman should have to make the agonizing choice between motherhood and being employed?

reply from: scopia19822

"How about between adoption and keeping a child she can't care for?"
If she wants to give up the child that is her choice, however if she is working and willing to improve herself than there should be some assistance available to help her carry the baby and raise her child. I would rather see resources in place to help women choose life than to see her abort. Any truly prochoice person would welcome these resources for women so they can make the choice of motherhood.
"a California taxpayer. Ask me how I feel about the Octomom."
I think we can all agree that the problem with the Octomom is totally different than someone who finds themselves in a unplanned pregnancy and chances are that woman is not going to be birthing a littler of 8.

i have always felt it is a pointless difference in wording baby or fetus.
the hour old baby isn't inside your womb any more is it. you used to be prochoice so you understand where i am coming from. i know, you lost a child, and that's terrible, and I'm sorry, but that makes you feel like it's okay to force all women now to give birth even if they dont want to? that is bizarre to me.

"Mother" is a biological term. If you have reproduced - and that happens at conception - then you are a mother. Secondly, you are paying to have it killed. If you find this melodramatic, maybe there's a reason for that...

Ooooh no! Women might have to do something they don't want to! How melodramatic!
I see you're still using euphemisms so distract from the real issue here, which is killing your offspring, and downplaying that, while pretending it is a grave offense for women not to be allowed to do whatever they want, even kill. I realize you wish to misrepresent the issue of abortion as one of "oppression of women," but I feel I must point out the fact that men are currently not allowed to kill their offspring, and nobody has an unlimited "right" to do anything they want, even if it involves the death of another human being....Stop pretending that not allowing women to kill their unborn offspring would somehow = "oppression" of women, and that prolifers are the potential "oppressors." It's just dishonest...
you see what you want to see. i downplay nothing; i even said it in plain words.
again and again and again you IGNORE that I have said that abortion is not about oppression of women. or controlling of women, which is more of what we have discussed. however, that is what happens. it's like oppoenents of gay marriage aren't focused on oppressing gays, but that is what happens anyways, isn't it?
if there is a fetus inside your uterus i fully support your right to kill it.
so because men can't kill their fetuses inside their uteruses women must do what YOU want, instead of what she wants?
that is weak.women can't always get what they want, so lets make abortion illegal.

this is such a lie. here i will quote myself from the top of this page:

what else do you want? seriously i can not be any plainer.

its 'cute' how you are wrong, then you tell me what I want, and call me a liar if i disagree. another prolifer who knows what a woman wants! ring the bells!
well this is confusing. i thought you wanted women to not have abortions. so you don't?
you read what you want to read, I never said you were a "bad man" or think that. do you put words in my mouth to make me seem worse or make me some evil prochoicer?
i just think you deny all facets of your position and to separate yourself from this, you 1. don't address my analogy to gay marriage 2. say i am trying to demonize you 3. lie 4. aren't recognizing implication of antiabortion legislation.
you want to oppress women and say you aren't.
melodrama reigns tonight.
you were 'whining it's not fair' that men can't kill their children and I am telling you that its not the same thing. but i think we are thread blending that is a different thread.

I was pro-choice because I didn't give enough of a damn about the situation to rally for the pro-life cause. I always found abortion disgusting and worked hard to prevent as many as I could.
No one forced women to get pregnant 99% of the time, she opened her legs and did it voluntarily. When I held my dead son I saw a baby long before the completion of 40 weeks gestation and realized that I truly was condoning infanticide.
If a woman doesn't want to have a baby she should take every step to avoid getting pregnant in the first place, not just screw and kill. 9 months of pregnancy inconvenience should not warrent butchering a living child.

No, what is weak is when instead of showing some courage women would rather make an innocent child pay for their sexual oops. Strong women have and love their babies and lay the foundation for compassion, they don't just spread for a penis then spread for a suction canula.

The same abortion industry lobby groups that assure women that the clinics are 'safe', even the NAF which claims the clinics it endorse are 'safe', put the rights, safety, and lives of women second place behind 'abortion rights'.

Warning to pregnant women:
Even though Tiller was a notorioulsy dangerous illegal abortionist the abortion industry and 'pro-choice' activists defended him instead of protecting women by putting him out of business or in jail.
DO NOT trust the assurances that just because abortion is legal it is 'safe'.
Go to the REAL CHOICE website and check out how many dangerous abortionists are ebing defended by the 'pro-choice' politicians and groups, even abortionists who've molested, injured, or killed women are still in business BECAUSE the same choicist groups who claim to be protecting women from illegal abortionists are fighting to keep those illegal and/or dangerous abortionists in business.

Many women have died from ectopic pregnancies because abortionists don't bother to use proper procedures to ensure the pregnancy is not ectopic and/or to confirm that all of the baby's body parts have been removed.

warning to pregnant women about RU486 (and the abortion industry's disregard for patient safety):
Today's News & Views
May 15, 2009
Altered RU 486 Protocol Increases Risk of Surgical Intervention
Editor's note. Please send your comments to daveandrusko@gmail.com. They are much appreciated.
United States use of the abortion pill RU486 was approved by the pro-abortion administration of President Bill Clinton. But this action, finalized in 2000, did little more than whet the appetite of the abortion industry, since there were some strings attached.
At the top of the list of items abortionists have worked unceasingly to remove were the commonsensical limitations on its use and the attempt to assure that the two-drug abortion technique is administered in a manner that decreases the chances that there will be complications for the mother. (The first drug kills the baby. The second drug-- typically the prostaglandin misoprostol--stimulates severe uterine contractions to expel the dead or dying baby.)
For example, the abortion industry didn't like that the protocol put in place by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expected the woman to come back for separate visits to take each of the drugs in the chemical cocktail (at least 24-48 hours apart), and which limited the drugs' use to the first 49 days of pregnancy.
But what happens when women do receive both RU486 and the prostaglandin simultaneously? It is "not as effective," according to a study just released by researchers at the Boston Medical Center.
The findings, presented at the 2009 Annual Clinic Meeting of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) found that women receiving the drugs simultaneously required "surgical interventions" (to deal with bleeding, failed abortion, patient satisfaction) nearly twice as often as those women who observed an interval of at least a day between the administration of the RU486 and the prostaglandin (7.4% vs. 3.9%).
Rates of completed abortion after two weeks were 77% for the group receiving the two drugs simultaneously, and 84% for those taking them separately. Both completion rates are considerably lower than the 97% figure advertised by the industry. See, for example, Planned Parenthood's webpage on the abortion pill at www.plannedparenthood.org.
According to Medscape Medical News (5/5/09), Melissa Stafford, the lead researcher who presented the findings at the ACOG meeting, indicated that simultaneous administration was "convenient," according to a reporter, "because it allowed the physician to confirm that medication was taken properly" and because "it eliminated the risk of losing medications."
Unspoken, but obviously a factor to patients, was the "convenience" of not having to plan a return visit for the second pill.
In the end, Dr. Stafford indicated, the reduced effectiveness was too big a hurdle for the Boston Medical Center. "We have changed our practice," she told Medscape, "and we no longer offer simultaneous administration of mifepristone and misoprostol for medication abortions."
None of this came as any surprise to pro-life experts who have followed the twists and turns over the last decade.
"Those who have developed and promoted RU 486 have told women that the abortifacient offers them a way to have an abortion without the risk of surgery," says Dr. Randall K. O'Bannon, National Right to Life's Director of Education and Research.
"But as this latest study shows," he continued, "the abortion industry's efforts to tamper with the FDA protocol have decreased the 'effectiveness' of these drugs and put many of these women in line for surgical abortions after their chemical abortions failed."
Almost immediately after the drug combination received government approval, the abortion industry began to ignore the FDA-prescribed protocol. They altered the doses-- decreasing the dose of the expensive RU486 (at one point, priced $90 a pill, three pills to a dose) and increasing the dosage of the cheap prostaglandin (misoprostol). Rather than have women return to the office a couple of days later to take the prostaglandin orally, the clinics gave the women the misoprostol in their first visit when they came in for the RU486, with instructions to take the prostaglandin home and vaginally self administer. The ignored the 49 day limit, prescribing the pills to women at 8 weeks, 9 weeks, 10 weeks or more along in their pregnancy.
Although the industry refused to link the decision, when women began to die, they pulled back some.
Planned Parenthood, the leader in the abortion industry, announced it would no longer be recommending the vaginal self administration of the misoprostol. Their website temporarily reduced time frame it could be used from 63 to 56 days. (It is back up to 63 now.)
This most recent study shows that the industry continues its efforts to streamline the process, with all the risks inherent in that.
O'Bannon noted, "Making chemical abortions more 'convenient' for patients, for abortionists, may help the industry attract more customers, but it may also have the consequence of making these already dangerous abortions even more dangerous for women."
He concluded, "As long as the abortion industry puts its own profits and preferences ahead of patient safety, both mothers and their unborn children will continue to face danger behind clinic doors."

I know you find the subject of the slaughter of babies funny, but please keep the laughter down, okay?

reply from: yoda

Wait, let me get this straight...... quoting a legitimate dictionary is a "drive by"? Is it illegal? And, to top that off, when the proaborts repeat a lie to me "hundreds of times", I'm supposed to ignore the dictionaries? Is that what you mean?
No, not really. The bottom line is that the definition of "mother" in biological terms is not disputed by anyone. The ONLY time there is any debate about it is when a proabort like you wants to quibble and play word games to try and justify the slaughter of babies.
Okay, so then how do you claim that a pregnant woman does not match the definition of ANY of them?

reply from: yoda

The part that means that a pregnant woman is not a mother.
How do you disqualify definitions in a dictionary?

reply from: carolemarie

I know that I considered the fetus a baby, and I felt bad about the decision, but at the time it seemed the most logical and grownup choice....I didn't believe I could be a mother at that time.
I didn't feel like a mother or consider myself one.....
So your perception of something does come to bear on how you think about it and what you understand....

reply from: yoda

How does one know what being a mother feels like if one thinks they have never been one? What were the "qualifications" for being a mother that you didn't think that you qualified for?
But you knew you were killing a baby each time you had an abortion, and still went ahead with it. So, you knew you were killing someone's baby, but you didn't think it was yours?

reply from: ProInformed

Actually it works both ways - your desires and actions affect your perceptions too.
When you want or choose to do something your values and peceptions change to justify your actions/choices.
Wait, so you did know about fetal development, did know what you were doing, nobody lied to you or pressured you to abort, you felt bad about it, but you did it anyway?
And your excuse for killing your baby even though you felt bad about doing so and understood what you were doing was that it seemed the most logical and grownup choice... that you didn't believe you could be a mother at that time (even though you did know that you already were a mother and did know that adoption was an option)?
Well, wouldn't it have been more logical and grown-up to let your baby live and be adopted by loving parents? If you had reason to doubt your readiness to parent then you could have allowed adoptive parents to raise your baby.
And wouldn't it have been more logical and grown-up to then make sure you didn't get yourself into the same 'situation' again and/or to acquire whatever mothering skills you felt yourself to be so deficient in before getting pregnant again?
OK, now I'm beginning to understand your POV more clearly, why you feud so much with the pro-lifers here.
Do you now acknowledge that what you did was wrong, AND that your reasons were wrong?
Or are you still justifying and defending it?

She's never defended her reasons for abortion. She honestly shared her mindset at the time.
If fellow prolifers like faithman, nancyu, and sander start bullying you like they bully carolemarie, I will happily defend you.
I object to carolemarie being bullied because she is a prolife activist who actually saves babies, and they try to tear her down any chance they can, using babies and God as their excuse, and their bad example reflects poorly on prolifers and Chrisitans.
And you also have been unkind to fellow prolifers and are too anxious to label some as "prentas" or other such nonsense.
It's to be expected that you'll receive criticism from the oppostion, is it not? This is a place where the "pro aborts" can and are verbally abused, and it's encouraged by the board owner, so that's to be expected in return.
It just seems to me that prolifers should not be bullied by other prolifers.

It just seems to me that prolifers should not be bullied by other prolifers.
Ah but spinwiddy can attack me all she wants and that just doesn't ever seem to bother you at all, does it? Your excuse is that it's OK with you if she does that just because you think I'm rude too? I don't buy that lame excuse. Spinwiddy knows she can insult and harrass me all she wants and you will never criticize HER for it, but you DO criticize me for far less less vicious and much less personal things.
The very same excuse you use to criticize pro-lifers, and to not criticize those who bash pro-lifers, could (and should) be turned around. You do NOT refrain from criticizing pro-lifers if the choicists they are 'attacking' are equally guilty of bashing and insulting pro-lifers. You do NOT refrain from defending the choicists who are just as guilty, or much worse. You do NOT criticize choicists and pro-lifers equally for doing the same sort of thing. You specifically target pro-lifers with your criticism, while failing to condemn the bashing OF pro-lifers, even when those attacking the pro-lifers are as hateful as spinwiddy is.
Why don't you JUST post general criticisms of name-calling and harrassment commited by BOTH sides, or at least if you take sides why don't you side with the pro-lifers instead of mostly defending those who post here to defend the baby killing (mostly overlooking the name-calling and vile attacks commited BY the baby killing crowd)?
So you won't criticize spinwiddy for the hateful lies she posts about me,
and you will criticize me if I post something about her that you think is rude too?
I'm not allowed to defend myself against her assaults and I refuse to sugar coat baby killing and the well-known fact that most abortions kill babies for no better reason than the biological parents wanting to have 'free sex' minus responsibility?
(BTW the thing you and CM refuse to acknowledge - that the main reason babies are killed and baby-killing is defended is the desire to have sex minus repsonibilities - is something that even some choicists are not ashamed to admit.
Stop pretending that you haven't noticed the way some choicists make fun of the babies they kill and sometimes specifically defend the baby killing because they think sex is more important than the lives of innocent babies.)
Those you defend ARE also guilty of the same or even worse offenses that you complain about. BUT their guilt is not used by you as an excuse to just keep out of it and let them fend for themselves is it, eh?
Do you really only defend posters who have never themselves attacked or insulted pro-lifers?
Do you really only ignore the pro-life bashing when the pro-lifers under attack are guilty of the same sort of thing themselves?
Go back and read some of the nasty posts spinwiddy hurls at me then try to convince me that you have some valid excuse to not criticize her hate-filled attacks against me, while thinking I should put up with your criticisms of my posts.

reply from: yoda

No one.
And I'm not even sure about that..... there could be many other secret reasons for your undying devotion to being her "bodyguard" here, instead of actually trying to speak out for the babies. It really doesn't matter, but the result is that you are worse than useless to the unborn because of your slavish devotion.

The circulation system is now perfectly formed.
http://i81.photobucket.com/alb...avater/IamaPerson2.jpg
Somewhere between the second and third month, the fetus' external genital organs develop and become obvious.
Spontaneous movements are seen shortly after the completion of the seventh week. Cutaneous sensory receptors appear in the perioral area of the human fetus in the 7th week of gestation. (The most common time for women to abort)

You've been on this board HOW LONG and haven't seen that question answered at least a dozen times?
How many times is she supposed repent of her sins to anonyomous internet people?
But she really does seem to still be defending her reasons for aborting;
she does sound as if she still thinks those are valid reasons to abort babies.
BTW, faramir you have been posting her long enough to have read why my baby was aborted, and to have observed how I am persistently attacked and insulted by spinwiddy, and her accusing me of supposedly 'choosing' to kill my baby just because of her insinuations that I was living a sexually sleazy lifestyle BUT you apparently have no problem with a PRO-LIFE female being treated that way, eh?
I was merely saying what I thought back then. I was 15 and unable to have a baby, to be pregnant or take care of a baby at that time in my life. I was able to reason and I did know that I was pregnant and I would have a baby if I didn't have the abortions. And no, i didn't know anything about fetal development, I didn't know how to get help, to me the problem was being pregnant. I don't make excuses for my choices. I did it, I had enough sense to know what I was choosing and I regret those decisions now.
BTW Proinformed you were pregnant and you were sexually active and not married. So for you to call other women names because they were sexually active and had abortions is the pot calling the kettle black. That is why Spinny gives you a hard time. You tell us you went in for a pregnancy test and they convinced you to have an abortion that day. That you were manipulated and deceived. I believe what you say, I don't call you names. I think you should extend the same treatment to other women who had abortions. I am prolife, and you have no problem with prolifers calling me names. You play the poor vicitm card regarding your abortion, even though why you didn't bother to get a 2nd opinon over something that you didn't want to do is hard to fathom. Perhaps you are rationalising to not accept your part in the abortion? I don't know, only you do, but calling the rest of women bimbos and stuff isn't very nice or accurate or helpful.
